Brett, follow sousclef's instructions for getting into the keyboard shortcut customiser, then follow Stefan Blom's instructions for locating the correct command. Make sure you select "All commands" in the Categories menu. I had to map FileNewDefault to CTRL+N AND map Bold to CTRL+B. This has done the trick for me. Hope it helps.
